Even fundraisers can be fun, but of course we have fun in lots of other ways too. Here are a few examples...

Fridays are always fun at CCA!
Some Fridays we have "Donuts with Dads" or "Muffins with Moms." This is a time when a parent volunteer visits and shares an area of expertise or hobby with the students while everyone enjoys donuts or muffins.
Every third Friday of the month, elementary students visit Cedar Hill Nursing home to spend time with their adopted grandparents. The students bring a gift, which they made in art class that week, to bring to their "grandparent."
Educational field trips are usually on Fridays. CCA students enjoy at least six field trips per year, three in the Fall and three in the Spring. A fun end-of-the-year school trip in June as well as a last-day-of-school Field Day are in addition to these field trips.
Twice monthly is "Casual Friday." The students have the opportunity to dress casually and purchase pizza for lunch . Profits from "Casual Friday" go into CCA's scholarship fund.
Various other fun activities are sprinkled here and there on Friday afternoons.
Holiday parties, afternoon movie time or game time are just a few.

There are several other fund-raisers throughout the school year, including Little Caesars Pizza, Yankee Candle, a Church Yard Sale, and perhaps others. The students seem to enjoy these, and in most cases the funds are raised for the CBC Scholarship fund, which the students know will help kids (perhaps themselves) come to CCA the next year. If you have any creative ideas for how to raise funds, please contact the CCA office!
Here are a couple of opportunities to support CCA yourself by ordering online with the information provided:

Usborne Books -- although this company does not offer books especially for Christian education (as a matter of fact, some books support evolution, and you would want to use your own discretion in ordering any books for your children). Nevertheless, there offer some good educational books, and your purchases can help support CCA. Their specials change every other Monday, so check back often for some great bargains!

Little Caesar's Pizza Kits -- Although we do a group fundraiser once or twice per year with their pizza kits, you can order in between those times and have it beneift CCA. When you go to http://HomeDelivery.PizzaKit.com and place your order, there is a spot on the check-out form for your "organization/school ID". Entering this number (8146) will earn CCA a few dollars for your order -- Thanks!

Every Spring, we have a School Spirit Week, which is altogether too much fun, although the students may say it is just about the right amount of fun to have at school. The staff and students are divided up into teams (including students from a wide range of grade levels) and compete in several categories. All of the categories are fun, but perhaps the most fun part is the competition for points and the anticipation of the final award for the team with the most school spirit. This week generates a lot of excitement among the students, staff, and families involved. It is a great way to encourage that excitement to spill over into telling other interested families about our school and its ministry.

New in March of 2008, our students will be competing in a Science Fair, spending quite a bit of time and effort in creating a project that showcases their skills and some of what they've been learning this school year. The students are eagerly anticipating how well their project will do in the final competition.

Every Spring our students compete in a jog-a-thon to raise funds for the CBC Scholarship fund, which helps out financially to make it easier for children of our staff and needy families with CCA tuition. Each student gathers pledges from friends, family, and even CCA staff members and then jogs or walks or sprints as far as they can at the community track. It generates a lot of enthusiasm and a substantial amount of funds too!
