Mrs. Lyons' class: has started working on a “manners” chapter in their Health class. The students enjoyed practicing introducing a “new classmate” to one another, and demonstrating the proper way to “interrupt” grownups when they are talking. Nate also learned that as a boy, he must not extend a hand to shake hands with a girl unless she first extends her hand. Congratulations on 100%'s to Abigail Doran, Nate Frisch and Vivian Bates.

Mrs. Haynes' class: The 3rd and 4th graders completed their final book reports for the year this week. They made a diorama, portraying a scene from the book and gave an oral report! The dioramas are on display in the lounge.

K-2 learned about texture and started making “Texture Bugs.”

3-4 learned about Mosaics and started creating one of their own.

5-8 worked on making patterned overlapping hands and identified negative space.

9-12 finished working on their optical illusions and started a new tessellations.

Mrs. Proch's History/Geography Class: Thank you for helping! We have outfitted 7 Ugandan children for school! There are more shoes and undies which will care for orphans. Rachel, the Proch's daughter leaves June 6, if anyone would still like to contribute $$$, we will get it to her before she flies out. Her team is hoping to care for 16 children. Also, Chinese food & Bowling outing – date to be announced soon.

Mrs. Proch's 6th grade class: Hats off to Tori Bates and Megan DeMerchant who have finished their reading books, “Voyages.” Yeah! 6th grade has moved into Algebra and no one has fainted! Please see back of this newsletter for two writing pieces from Mrs. Proch's class by Tori Bates and Brandon Neathawk.

    Mrs. Dunning's Bible Bee Team:

How many can name Jesus' 12 disciples? The Bible Bee challengers can! They've also done well with 24 New Testament verses studied thus far – Keep up the good work!

    This week assignment:

  1. Continue reviewing Matthew - Romans 5:12 verses from Category 1 (8 new verses)

  2. Add the rest of the Romans verses through 2 Corinthians 5:20-21. *Note: 10 of these new verses are very familiar, (2 Corinthians 5:17 is the theme verse for K-2nd grade; 2 Corinthians 5:20 is one of our Bee-Attitudes.)

  3. Keep studying Category 1 Bible Knowledge Questions – if the card has a reference, write the verse out on the backside of the card.

  4. Mini written quiz next Wednesday – June 3rd, study hard and bring your pencils.

Therefore, my beloved brethren, be ye stedfast, unmoveable, always abounding in the work of the Lord, forasmuch as ye know that your labour is not in vain in the Lord.” I Corinthians 15:58.
